A Quote From Josh Wink...

"Get into the game for the right reasons. Enjoy what you do. If what you do as a producer/dj seems like work and you find yourself complaining a lot. Then maybe it's time to really think about what you do. Life's too short to do things you don't want to do." - Josh Wink

There's nothing wrong with being into something for money, but there must be some easier way to get money other than DJ-ing or maybe even producing music because you will be rewarded for your work only if u give more than you can and that is done by loving and living your music. I didn't mean to scare you with this quote but this is especially true in the scene and also in all other parts of your life. By saying living your job i mean doing something that every succesfull artist/DJ does every day. It's about creating the lifestyle that will make it inevitable for you to have success in this part of your life, and that is done by creating rituals and habits that give you results.

Written In The Stones

First question is when u start playing the music for the people is to ask yourself why are u doing it? Many clubs  have specific genres of music thats being played in there, so that might be the worst or the best thing about that club. Having the courage to give the people a good time consistently through the night by playing interesting dance music sets and giving up the fear, attachment, and caring what other people think, you will actually be the next level DJ. Often times you just have to show the people what they need because what they think they want might not be the best thing!

Run It Like A Business

Everybody involved in DJ-ing should know that your job is to keep people dancing and that it is a job like every other job. My personal experience is that you should carefully select music styles for each part of the evening if u play whole night but if you are just one of the DJ's playing that night that might be a different story.
From my personal experience, i find these styles most suitable for keeping the crowd dancing: trance, progressive house and any kind of electronic dance music... You gotta be the pied piper with this!
